It is officially the ‘UK’s Best Medium Festival’, and with a lineup as good as this year’s, and a real value for money you can definitely see why! We have compiled a list of reasons of absolute essentials, the best things to do at the festival itself!
Of course… The music!
If you like good music, then Y Not is for you. The Vaccines, Sundara Karma, Haus, Clean Cut Kid, Declan McKenna, Two Door Cinema Club, Fickle Friends and even the legendary Kate Nash and Happy Mondays to name a few. Wow! This is enough to get the adrenaline pumping already, can you almost feel the euphoric atmosphere?
Did we mention the Stereophonics? This will be an amazing few days that you won’t forget, that is a certainty.
Y Not source locally produced alcohol to sell on site! They run all of the bars themselves and have a number of different ones for you to try out with everything from local ale to cocktails (If you’re feeling fancy). Some of them have open mic sessions and acoustic performances throughout the day and if you’re eagle-eyed you might even spot the bar which has deck chairs and sand. Who doesn’t love a makeshift beach? Who doesn’t want to watch Maximo Park whilst sipping on a Woo Woo?
The Ticket Price
Y Not remains one of the only festivals in the UK to offer real value for money (£200+ for Leeds & Reading Festival!) with a weekend ticket including camping costing just over £100. Yep. That’s three days of great music at a festival in the picturesque location of the Peak District for just over £100. Did we mention tickets they’re cheap as chips?
The Silent Disco
You haven’t lived unless you have experienced one of these. At last, dancing in your room with your headphones on is now an amazing event with others, that you have to experience. You party animals aren’t ready to go home once the live music stops! Classic Indie anthems? Who can refuse that? We know we can’t!
