Wychwood Festival is fast approaching, kicking off a week today, next Friday! One of the many fantastic acts set to play the Friday are energetic, indie-rockers INHEAVEN, we for one can not WAIT for their set, we caught up with the band to see how they are and to find out if they’re excited for Wychwood (Spoiler alert: they are!)
Hey! You’ve just played The Great Escape fest, how did it go? We hear both your sets were pretty incredible?
It was amazing! It’s a great festival and we loved being part of it for the second year.
We’ve been loving your new fanzine! What inspired you guys to start doing them?
They started as a sort of mood board that was inspired by the songs we were working on at the time. But then we started printing the images and sticking them back together – the zine was born and we thought it was important to share with our fans as a bit of insight into the INHEAVEN world.
Your recent single ‘Vultures’ is pretty amazing! Tell us a bit more about the track?
It’s a fast, punk anthem about mainstream media and how we digest information.
You’re playing Wychwood Festival next week, looking forward to it?
Yes we are looking forward to coming back, last year we played the big top stage but this year we are on the main stage which will be great.
Is there anyone you’re particularly excited to see at Wychwood Festival?
If you could collaborate with any artist on the lineup, who would it be and why?
It would have to be Buzzcocks because they were pioneers of the British punk scene and we take a lot of inspiration from that era
What can people expect from your Wychwood set?
An epic intro and lots of new songs
How does playing festivals compare to your own gigs? Do you have a preference?
We enjoy both. Festivals are very different to your own shows as you are trying to win over new fans whereas your own shows are people who have paid to see you. But nothing beats a festival when the sun is out and everyone is up for it – it’s magical.
Have you got many other festival appearances planned for us to get excited about?
We have a big one that’s not announced yet so watch this space. But others we have lined up are Reading, Truck, 110 Above + a few others!
What are your top festival survival tips?
Loads of water and baby wipes.
And finally, for those lucky enough to be going to Wychwood fest, in a few words, why should they come see you play? Think of this as new music speed dating, no pressure, 30 seconds, GO.
Because we are the best new band of 2017 and our live show will blow your mind.
