François is here to ‘Stay’: the new alt-pop maestro you need on your radar.

We’re all for girl power, with artists such as Dua Lipa, Tove Styrke and Sigrid dominating the alt-pop scene with their lush soundscapes and ethereal vocal deliveries, but it’s about time we had some lads show us what they’re made of. Liverpool’s François has answered the call.

First emerging onto the scene back in 2014 with the release of his demo Last Night I Fell, the artist has been honing his craft, supporting for the likes of Aquilo and Francis Lung and working alongside producer David Alexander (Summer Heart, Fews) to drop a string of singles in the coming months.

‘Stay’ is François’ first offering and debut, a sweeping synth foray that blends dashes of bass groove with euphoric, trance-like ambience. Pulsing beats lay the groundwork, whilst François sings of unrequited love in a heartfelt vocal delivery befitting of any power ballad.

Lush production, smooth beats and a relatable tale of love and loss; what more can you ask of a debut track? Listen up and “stay” tuned!
