Shy Luv – Time
Record Label: Black Butter Records
Following the release of their debut EP ‘Shock Horror’, one of the UK’s most exciting new bands Shy Luv are back with their brilliant new single ‘Time’.
Another juicy slice of fresh disco–pop, ‘Time’ doesn’t fail to live up to Shy Luv’s musical mantra; in order to make people dance and have fun with your music, you need to have a lot of fun making it. It’s clear that these boys do exactly that.
Across their inaugural release with the ‘Shock Horror’ EP, Sam & Jake drew on shades of hip hop instrumentalism on ‘Don’t Let Me Down (Intro)’, groove-laden R&B on the JONES-featuring ‘Shock Horror’, electronic experimentalism on ‘Nightingale’ and smooth pop music on ‘Joy Rider’. Watch the brilliantly trippy video for ‘Shock Horror’ directed by London-based French duo Bif, here.
Shy Luv’s music generally is a direct reflection of their diverse range of influences. From their individual musical output over recent years to the more collaborative influence of acts such as LCD, Arctic Monkeys, Metronomy and Friendly Fires. After carving a lane for themselves respectively as Karma Kid and Armeria, it could’ve been easy for Sam Knowles and Jake Norman to rest on their laurels and box themselves in under their respective aliases. Instead, they decided to create Shy Luv. A band that takes the talents of both individual artists from the clubs to the live stage.
In this instance, Shy Luv are pleased to announce a series of upcoming festival performances where their embracing live dynamic can be witnessed, including Live at Leeds, The Sound You Need at London’s KOKO, Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival, and Wildlife Festival in June. They’ve also announced a headline show at London’s Rock Steady venue for July 6th.
