The countdown starts for Bestival’s returns in 2 weeks! We caught up with Patawawa before they hit the stage.

We still can’t get enough of ‘Fight Me’ here at Born music HQ, are there any new releases on the horizon for us to get excited about?

It’s good to hear you’re into it!! We’re currently working on an E.P to come out September/October time so keep your eyes and ears peeled!

We see that you will be going on your first debut UK tour as of September. What are you most excited/nervous about?

Seeing new places round the uk is always exciting but you never know if you have fans in certain city’s so it’s a little nerve racking pulling up to a gig and not having a clue what’s about to happen.

We see that you recently played at the Smoked & Uncut festival. Any highlights from the experience?

Yeh smoked and uncut was a great little festival, I think the highlight for any festival is being able to play outside in the scorching heat, although we are in Britain so it’s a rare occasion but we got lucky this time!!

You’re playing at Bestival this year, looking forward to it?

Of course! It’s one of the best festivals going in our opinion, last time we were there was back in 2012 though so we’re looking forward to seeing the new site.

Is there anyone you’re particularly excited to see at the festival?

It’s got to be grace jones, she’s an absolute legend!

If you could collaborate with any artist on the line-up, who would it be and why?

Mr jukes! We’ve been a fan of jack steadman since his early sample work before Bombay bicycle club and his new project is the gift that keeps on giving.

What can people expect from your set?

Sweaty, sweaty dancing, we pour every bit of energy we can muster into it so expect allot of ridiculous dancing and non stop dances beats.

How does playing festivals compare to your own gigs? Do you have a preference?

That’s a tough one! Festivals have got the whole weekend holiday thing going for them, but it’s amazing to see people turning up to a gig just for you, maybe we’ll just call it a draw.

Have you got many other gigs lined up for us to get excited about?

The whole tour is gonna be exciting, we hope anyway! If you want to come and watch we’re playing everywhere from Bristol right up to Newcastle so I’m sure there’s a city near you!

What are your top festival survival tips?

Bring toilet paper and water, we don’t need to tell you why!

And finally, for those lucky enough to be going to Bestival, in a few words, why should they come to see you play? Think of this as new music speed dating, no pressure, 30 seconds, GO.

If your not dancing you’re laughing at us dancing, what more do you need.

Make sure to check them out during your weekend of colour, madness and incredible music.
