While her portfolio already includes starring in a West End Musical at six (and at 12 with Jessie J), becoming world champion in Shotokan karate three times and more recently finding musical fame singing with Rudimental, Anne-Marie wants more. The multitalented singer’s single ‘Alarm’ recently hit 100 million streams on Spotify, she’s hit number one singing on Clean Bandit’s ‘Rockabye’ and with this new nomination, it doesn’t look like she’ll be stopping soon.
As one of this year’s biggest pop stars, the ‘Hotter Than Hell’ singer needs no introduction. Having written all her own songs, (bar ‘Be the One’), the former model’s brand of “dark pop” is taking the pop world by storm. With six massive singles from her self-titled debut album out already, it looks like the early 2017 release is set to ‘Blow Your Mind (Mwah)’.
RAG ‘N’ BONE MAN
In case you’ve somehow missed the news, the winner of 2017’s Brits Critics Choice Award is the wonderful Rag ‘N’ Bone Man! The raw, bluesy soul of Rag’n’Bone Man is easily one of the year’s most distinctive sounds. The gruff voiced singer, who began his musical journey in rap collective The Rum Committee, infused hip-hop elements early on, becoming a 1Xtra favourite and even collaborating with Vince Staples. His 2015 EP ‘Disfigured’ some gained critical praise, but it was his incredible performance of ‘Human’ on Jools Holland earlier this year, coupled with a cover on X-Factor, which threw him into the public consciousness.
