We’re giving away a pair of tickets to Radio X’s 2017 X-Posure Live All Dayer this Saturday (28th January)!! Headlining the event, Spring King, one of the most promising acts in recent times, are definitely an act you can’t miss. Led by drummer and lead singer Tarek Musa, their catchy, energetic and raw 2016 debut Tell Me if You Like Me To affirmed beliefs that they might just be the future of UK indie.

As the first Apple Music artist of the week and of course a Born Music favourite, Laurel is a great pick for a future star. Comparisons to Lana Del Rey and Lorde don’t do justice to her own brand of consistently developing emotive pop music, as proven on her recently released, and fantastic, Park EP.

If you like loud, fast and unpredictable rock music with an attitude and think that Sleaford Mods should be shouting about Mary Berry and reggae, I think we’ve got the perfect band for you. Bristol’s Idles are a band that make fantastically visceral anthems, overflowing with cathartic aggression and energy. Their album comes out in March and its worth getting excited about.

Some of the day’s most interesting music will be coming from Throws, whose cool, icy sound owes much to recording their album in an Icelandic harbour. Their funky left-field folktronica is catchy, synthy and just as bizarre as it is earnest. Tracks like ‘Punch Drunk Sober’ detail boxing a Viking horned lover, while ‘Silence In between’ is a confessional acoustic tearjerker.

Another band you can’t miss is the chilled out indie-poppers Girl Ray. The North London trio make sweetly melancholic music with a lo-fi sound, light-hearted harmonies and endearing lyrics. It’s the perfect music to break up an action packed day, somehow managing to sound soothing and exciting at the same time.
