Another year has passed and New Arcades have kept busy blessing us with new music and live performances.
It has been a whole year since synth-pop duo New Arcades released their heartbreaking single ‘Fade’. The rest of 2017 was dedicated to more music releases; ‘Irreparable’ featuring highly popular synthwave duo NINA and ‘There’s Only Two Of Us Now’ were released towards the end of the year.
The Londoners kicked off 2018 with the release of ‘Reappear’, their final single release before the run-up to their highly-anticipated upcoming EP.
March saw their first gig in a while at three-floor London music venue Electrowerkz where they raised the roof alongside Synthwave Toronto artist Dana Jean Phoenix, Spanish horror-synth artist Night Crawler and London electronica trio Sol Flare.
April was a big month for Dean and Adam as they released ‘Inhale’ featuring London singer-songwriter Lula from their upcoming EP Nothing Is Lost, followed by the EP itself, receiving high praise and an invitation to BBC Music Introducing Beds, Herts & Bucks!
New Arcades played a massive show for Glasgow in May and Nothing Is Lost was finally available on CD and cassette.
Coming up, don’t miss the duo playing Rise Up Events and KNOW YOUR ROOTS’ end of summer party at Saks Underground, Southend-On-Sea at the end of August, followed by Outland Presents: Journeys Into Synthwave at Zigfrid von Underbelly, London in October.
Dean and Adam provided us with a more personal insight into their year: “Since last year we’ve released several singles and also played more live shows (London and also a big show in Glasgow this May). We have collaborated with several artists including NINA (Irreparable (feat. NINA)) and Lula (Inhale) and brought out our latest EP ‘Nothing is Lost’ in April. We also have a new song ‘Hideaway’ coming out very soon!”
