Happy Anniversary to Denny’s ‘Girls Like You’! Here’s what they’ve been up to over the past year…

It’s the first anniversary for Denny’s harmonious electro-pop track ‘Girls Like You’ and they’ve been busy performing and releasing tracks ever since. ‘Girls Like You’ was their first release since ‘Bloom’ in 2016 and it kicked off a string of releases throughout 2018.

Denny finished off 2017 with a gig at The Garage, Minnesota, and received the honour of being named one of Atwood Magazine’s Artists to Watch for 2018! And they weren’t wrong.

2018 began with a bang for the American trio as they played live at University of Minnesota in January ahead of the release of their next single ‘Something Furious’ in February. This more upbeat, catchy track received spins from The Current who also featured them as Song of the Day in April. Denny finished off the Spring performing at First Avenue & 7th St Entry, MN with Brisbane pop group Cub Sport.

Over the summer, Denny released ‘she gonna eat your heart out’, a slower, more intimate addition to their catalogue. They released its refreshing video accompaniment in July ahead of performing a stripped back version of ’Something Furious’ live with Drifter Music Group. At this point, the trio had moved to LA to record their debut EP while living in John Lennon’s old house!

In August, Denny returned to 7th St Entry, MN and released their latest single ‘Love Somebody With A Face Like You’.

Denny provided us with a more personal insight into their year: “Since ‘Girls Like You’ came out last fall it’s garnered over 150K streams. The music video followed shortly thereafter and then DENNY ventured to LA and finished recording our debut EP with Eric Palmquist. Recorded at Palmquist Studios while living in a house owned by John Lennon and Stevie Nicks in Laurel Canyon, we tapped into the soul of Los Angeles and the new songs are our most anthemic and pure DENNY yet.

“We’ve released three singles since then, played packed shows at home in Minneapolis and are prepping our EP and videos for each song to come out in early 2019. Expect some shows around the US in 2019.

“2019 is somewhere dark with disco loud.”
