In partnership with SYNCR Music, this week’s Spotlight features your new favourite rock band, TrueHeights.
Whether you were a naughties emo kid or you still enjoy moshing to the likes of You Me At Six and old school 30 Seconds To Mars, this one’s for you. Forming in 2014, TrueHeights from Leamington Spa is the product of the demise of three bands: “we decided that we wanted to start something that turned the heads of more than just the alternative rock scene”. Incorporating fat guitar riffs with Zakk Poland’s breathtaking vocals, the six-piece have set the standard for today’s alternative rock bands.
Last April saw the release of their new EP Days We Found which was based on “the idea of making the ‘normal’ somewhat ‘abnormal'”, they told us, which has been a “running theme throughout the record; where in some instances the chorus will sound big and real poppy and then there will just be a burst of chaos to bridge sections together. This theme even runs within the artwork. With the very plain brick wall, with basic items hanging on it, but the closer you look the more glitches in the artwork you see”.
Inspired by bands “that can accomplish something niche and unique that gathers a mass following”, the boys pride themselves and their actions while “remaining really personal with our fans. That seems to be the key to success these days”.
“If you’re a fan of big chorus, big guitars and electronics” then head on down to a TrueHeights show in September! Their six-date tour across England is definitely one not to be missed, where you can expect “a whole lot of energy, Days We Found in its entirety, and some brand new exclusive merch”.
TrueHeights’ Days We Found EP is available to stream and download on all major platforms now.
