This charming debut from the Leicester indie-hop quintet explores the polarising forces in any East-Midlands bred twenty-something; debauchery and the listlessness of adolescence.

From the resolve of ‘Pockets’ to the sleepy pseudo-lag beats of ‘Silverado’ to the bleary-eyed whimsy of ‘Slow-Motion’, the band brilliantly grasps the interplay of their vices in a sleepy lilt. “It just feels a little bit like somebody cut a hole in my pocket,” Murray croons about the folly in longing for fortune making music.

Creature Habits is the band’s first release under Island Records. The band formed in the Midlands, where front-man Murray met multi-instrumentalist Sam at school. They quickly hit it off musically, laying the framework for Easy Life’s dissident blend of synth-heavy indie R&B, jazz and cheekiness. Together, they took their unique sound to the Midlands music scene and pieced together the rest of the band. Their recent decision to sign to Island Records has landed them an impressive docket of live shows to follow their acclaimed release. Catch Easy Life at The Great Escape, Live at Leeds and Dot to Dot. The band will also be opening for Liam Gallagher at Finsbury Park on June 29th.

This compelling mixtape is just a snippet of what Easy Life has been working on. Keep an eye out for projects from Easy Co., a collective spearheaded by the members of Easy Life.
