This London-based four piece have already announced themselves in 2018 in a big way. Having already released the fantastic indie-rock anthems ’21st Century Man’ and ‘Jewels Of The City’ this year, the band would be forgiven for taking it easy and letting the tide settle. But River Fury are not that band.

To say ‘Why (You Don’t Mean It)’ is somewhat of a departure from their previous sound is somewhat of an understatement. Though not going straight into hard-rock, this latest single is an immediate fist-pumper. This is an indie track that swims in the same pool as some of the best riff makers in the business. Bands such as Foo Fighters and Queens of The Stone Age (QOSTA) would be more than happy to adopt the barn-storming main riff that dominates this colossal track.

The band comprise of Patric Nutton, Dan Howe, Callum Hayes and Andrew Gallop, musicians that have played in the likes of Sweetheart Of The Rodeo and Bedlam Motel; these are not guys who are new to music. The band have been hard at work on their debut album ‘Five Year Plan’, working during consecutive summers in the excellent Giant Wafer Studios in Wales and the Hermitage Works Studios in London. Not only are they in the music industry, they are avid students of the business. While recording, the band studied the greats of music, from the likes of The Cure and Joy Division, to the aforementioned Foo Fighters and QOTSA.
