You won’t be let down with Ghosts of Social Networks latest energetic single
There’s been many iconic songs with the lyric ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ before. Well, from the likes of The Beatles and now Ghosts of Social Networks. Based in Manchester, the genius behind the music is Nathan Till who is joined by Nico Maccarinelli (drums), Andrea Gobbi (bass) and John Miles (guitar) on stage. Drawing influences from the dark ages of The Cure, Echo and The Bunnymen and Nick Cave, it’s not all doom and gloom. Taken off their debut EP, this is the second single for what sounds to be an astonishing introduction.
Straight to point and a punch in the gut, it’s hard hitting but sticks to it’s influences like glue. Instrumentally, it feels like it would fit perfectly in a Stranger Things episode. Sparking off an indie nature, the darkness of the song makes it feel slightly creepy here and there. Nevertheless, holding onto the pioneering sound of Manchester, Ghosts of Social Networks are soon to be the next best thing to come out of there. Nathan mentioned; “This song is a fantasy narrative where I kidnap god and ransom him back to his mother in order to gain power over the world. I suppose it represents humankind’s obsession to control everything.”
