‘Nothing On You’ is the latest raucous effort from Kent’s The Modern Strangers. Bringing their trademark charisma and fun-loving pop charm, the band, fronted by brothers Max and Archie Davenport, are well versed in crafting indie pop gems that are so catchy even science agrees.

This latest track certainly follows suit, delivering non-stop positivity and delicious energy with it’s bouncy, foot-tapping rhythm and jaunty melody, and there’s something oddly ‘Bee Gees’ about their vocal, as if the trio had been injected with ounces of indie-pop sass and reborn for a contemporary era. It’s classy, fun and downright awesome.

“Late last year we were in the studio recording a song,” explains Max. “We managed to get it finished quickly leaving us with a few hours before we could call it a night and head for the inevitable end of day beverages. Archie, myself and Gordon (our producer) decided to use the time to see if we could come up with something. Archie was playing around with the chord pattern and we built it up from there. We came back to the tune earlier this year and decided it would fit perfectly on the EP. ‘Nothing On You’ is about someone who thinks of themselves quite highly and would happily dismiss real love for someone who couldn’t offer them anything emotionally, but could book a first date at the top of The Shard.”
