PEAKES’ ‘Space’ Sounds Sublime
Location: Leeds, UK
FFO: Heir, Flyte
Label: Circadian Rhythms
Like the slow motion footage of a wave crashing on Blue Planet Two, ‘Space’ by PEAKES is a track which begins as ripple and builds to a decibel inducing deluge. Opening with the haunting vocals of Molly Puckering over a simple synth riff, gradually the swirling sounds of static are induced, harmonies are added before crashing drums hail the tracks closure and the storm silences. One of the tracks off their debut EP Space (out now), on this track not only do PEAKES have a sound beyond their years, but they haven’t even reached peak performance themselves! With the band already working on new music, 2018 looks set to be a big year for the group.
To coincide with the release of their debut EP, the band have also confirmed headline shows in London at Servant Jazz Quarters (Nov 2nd) and in Leeds at Oporto (Nov 12th)
