Jax Anderson makes an entrance with debut ‘Hard Times’
Formerly known as Flint Eastwood, Jax Anderson has released her debut single ‘Hard Times’. With an EP on the way to coincide with her North American tour with Bishop Briggs and Miya Folick.
The track comes complete with powerful visuals in the self-directed video and was written over a two-year period. Centered around the battle to keep your sanity when the world around you has gone mad.
Speaking on the track, she explains that: “Hard Times is about keeping your sanity when the world around you has gone mad. This song took me 2 years to write. I wanted it to feel honest and open, and to capture the way I feel about pain that my friends and I have experienced. Sometimes in order to fully understand something, I need to sit with it. I need to feel every emotion surrounding it before I feel like I have something to say, so I wrote and revised and re-wrote countless times until it felt right. The end product was “Hard Times”, a reminder not to lose hope in seemingly hopeless situations. Margaret Sohn, who goes by the artist name “Miss Grit”, played cello on the track which I feel gives it a somber, hopeful tone & really ties it all together. I had my friends sing along with me in the choruses. It just felt right.”
