If you are of a nervous disposition then MY PLEASURE‘s ‘Identity Crisis’ may well tip you over the edge. The sub-three minute slaughterer serves as a link between Dave Davies taking a razorblade to his speakers for ‘You Really Got Me’ and the 21st Century lo-fi of early Ty Segall/Jay Reatard. But just as Conor Mcgregor’s cardio let him down in the Mayweather fight, this track burns itself out at the 1:50 mark in a stroke of utter genius. The guitars become more stripped back, the rhythm more lumbering and the lyrics more direct: “you think you’re free and easy, you just do what you’re told/just having fun while you’re young, but soon you’ll be old”. Before the furious ending briefly returns at the track’s conclusion.

‘Identity Crisis’ is the second single to be taken from MY PLEASURE’s debut album ‘Domestic Bliss’, out on Friday 13th October 2017. MY PLEASURE is currently on a ‘mini-tour, dates below:
