Well, this debut is stunning. Eyesore & the Jinx release the border-smashing ‘Gated Community’, an attack on the current political climate in the West. A slight benefit of dreadful political times comes through the counter-art produced, and Eyesore & the Jinx channel some of the best that punk and post-punk has to offer. ‘Gated Community’ is a politically charged song that decries the current trend in Western politics to solidify arbitrary borders. Also worth noting that the music video is modeled after SNES games. Oh, and the big boss is Donald Trump. Watch out for Theresa May too!

This is blistering punk music. Vocals are lo-fi and near barked out, while the bright guitar sputters out throughout the track. This is the perfect blend of fast-paced fun and political misery. A band already well hyped, the band have been compared to contemporaries Ought and Iceage, while the end of the song is very close to NY band Show Me The Body. Having already played festival slots with the likes of IDLES and upcoming performances with bands such as Pulled Apart By Horses, Eyesore & the Jinx are on for great things.
