‘Flump’ back and listen to Michael Jablonka’s latest single
FFO: Flyte, Fizzy Blood
Label: Lost In The Manor Records
27 year old singer-songwriter/guitarist Michael Jablonka has finally returned with the epic ‘Flump’. The word ‘flump’ tends to conjure up ideas of something soft, bouncy and sweet, but don’t let the name fool you. ‘Flump’ is possibly his grittiest record yet. Born in London, Michael began gigging at the young age of 14 as a guitarist for hire, and eventually found himself touring arenas and festivals internationally with renowned soul musician Michael Kiwanuka. It was at this point Jablonka decided he craved some of the limelight, and began to write his own music. He released ‘Peacefully’ and ‘I Found You’ last year but is now armed with new material which is grungier than ever. ‘Flump’ demonstrates Michael’s fierce edge and flaunts his incredible guitar talents on a six-string guitar. Not too dissimilar to Foo Fighters and Jack White, Michael Jablonka’s blues-infused indie rock sits comfortably between rock and pop. Catch Michael at this year’s Great Escape Festival on the Lost In The Manor stage.
Michael Jablonka describes the meaning behind the name ‘Flump’: “It was a loose idea that developed at a rehearsal in my garage. For some reason the riff reminded me of the marshmallow sweet ‘Flump’.”
