feelswithcaps’ new single ‘Powder’ hits many a bittersweet note
Finnish trio feelswithcaps are back with ‘Powder’, their second single to be released in 2019. Following in the wake of their recent release ‘Drains’, ‘Powder’ continues in the vein of their thoughtfully introspective indie pop. Imbued with softly bubbling synth work and pulsing beats, the band create a sound that is tropically charming.
Once described by MTV News as “perfect pop to sad-dance to in your bedroom”, ‘Powder’ recites the tale of love, longing and an undercurrent of substance use. Written whilst vocalist Sofi Meronen was residing in London, the track “is situated in a party where you feel out of place but you can’t leave because someone special is there”. Disarmingly peppy and upbeat, the track itself is laced with many a bittersweet note but then again, isn’t that what feelswithcaps does best?
“Powder” is available now. feelsiwthcaps play The Bedford in London on 9th October.
