Dirty Rugs are raucous rock’s finest on ‘We’re All Dying (I Feel Alive)’
Location: Seattle, US
FFO: Oh Sees, The Rare Occasions
If a lust for life could be personified in one scorching riff, it’d probably sound something like Dirty Rugs latest effort ‘We’re All Dying (I Feel Alive)’
Acting as “a simple reminder that life is short,” the Seattle four-piece implore you to “make the most of it” in what could quite easily be described as a raw, gritty and dirty YOLO. Drawing influence from all across the rock spectrum, from Black Sabbath and Misfits to early Kings Of Leon, ‘We’re All Dying (I Feel Alive)’ is drenched in as much rock-topian bliss as the quartet can muster.
Raucous riffage, punchy fist-pumping percussion, chant-a-long vocals and a delivery that sounds like a little dash of Anthony Kiedis mixed with Caleb Followill. What could be better?
