Demob Happy have announced their second album Holy Doom, due for release March 23rd 2018, and announced a full European tour with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes through March and April 2018.

With the new record due, the Brighton based rockers recently released ‘Be Your Man’. The single immediately grabs attention with a tight, thumping drum solo erupting into the huge, crunching riffs driven by the distorted guitar and bass. Booming rhythms keep it all in check, ensuing a captivating dichotomy between soaring, driven vocals and dark, ominous Black Sababth-esque riffs. The video is reminiscent of Black Sabbath’s ‘Paranoid’ too, and if it’s anything to go by, bassist and vocalist Matthew Marcantonio even resembles a cross between a young Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi. And Frank Zappa…

About the track and video, Marcantonio says: “It’s about getting to know your duality, that there’s good and bad in you, and not hiding from either. A spoonful of sugar is sickly, but with lemon it becomes bittersweet and something new altogether.”

“We like old videos of bands on TV shows, they have this unorganised quality to them, before this standardised version of what a performer should do and how to act. it was looser and more care free, they took the piss out of it all.”

‘Holy Doom’ is due for release March 23rd 2018 via SO Recordings.
