The four piece have always had a penchant for the whimsical, but in Bloom‘s latest release ‘Escape’, they take their fantasies to a whole new level.

Once described by The Quietus as “Astral space pop worthy of Bjork”, it is an observation that is only reinforced in the potency of their new single, part of an AA-side with previously shared ‘Ground’. Incorporating a near frenetic urgency in its percussion and guitar plucking, the four-piece channel a relentless energy in three and a half minutes of shimmering indie-pop.

Adding bright, retro-tinged inflections into the mix with analogue-toned synths (and an old skool Final Fantasy-esque vid for the 8-bit lovers amongst you!), the track surmises its purpose and message in its closing lyric: “Love yourself by letting go”.

‘Ground/Escape’ is available now.
