Get your cameras ready! Team Picture are on the road to Off The Record in two weeks time…
Manchester’s multi-venue music festival Off The Record returns to our ear-holes and visual-orbs in just under two weeks! Who’s excited? We certainly are here at Born, and what better way to wet the whistle of our excitement than a little chat with Team Picture, the Leeds-based six-piece who are set to tear up The Castle Hotel on the Friday.
Expect chat about “new new newies,” some “CUTE RAP TIME” and an unparalleled hatred for camping. We can totally relate.
You’re playing at Off The Record this year, looking forward to it?
Is there anyone you’re particularly excited to see at the festival?
Basically just excited to hang around at the Castle all day. I refuse to leave that building all night!
If you could collaborate with any artist on the line-up, who would it be and why?
Us and The Ninth Wave could probably make a good go of covering the entire half of Kate Bush’s ‘Hounds of Love’ from which they draw their name. That would actually be a great project. Guyz, hit us up, k?
What can people expect from your set?
Basically all newies. Like, new new newies. Like we’re still writing them and it could go horribly wrong newies.
How does playing festivals compare to your own gigs? Do you have a preference?
Festivals are cool, but I don’t like sleeping in a tent. Why are tents always damp? Like, just that gross level of moisture where everything just feels slimy? Also I almost burned myself on one of those little camping stoves last summer while heating up water for an Aldi pot noodle knock off. Camping stinks! Gah!
Have you got many other gigs lined up for us to get excited about?
Yes! We’re doing our own show on December 7th at the Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds.
What’s your preference between field and metropolitan festivals?
Camping at metropolitan festivals is even worse! Yeesh! So I guess just stick me down in a field next to Jodrell Bank and let’s leave it at that.
And finally, for those lucky enough to be going to Off The Record, in a few words, why should they come to see you play? Think of this as new music speed dating, no pressure, 30 seconds, GO.
An anagram of ‘TEAM PICTURE’ is ‘CUTE RAP TIME.’ jus’ sayin.
