There’s a steady increase of great musicians coming from Bath at the moment, and these are one of the most exciting. Meet Farebrother, the indie rock aficionados, with a confidently measured progression and explosive chorus’ that we DEMAND you have to see live if you get the chance.

“You come across a lot of ‘in your face’ guitar bands all the time, but we feel we have more of an emotional intelligence and complexity to our music” they tell us, explaining that they hear quite a variation of things in their sound, “we like to think we’re more ‘in your mind’ than ‘in your face’.”

Up until recently, they Farebrother was “a pretty hectic 3-piece”, but after playing a few gigs, Owen asked to play bass for them and now they’re a solid four piece, ready to take on the music world.

They’ve just put out a new video for ‘Rapture’, filmed at Rockfield Studios where they recorded their debut EP of the same name. “’Rapture’ is a track that will probably stay with us for a while… It really captures the energy and excitement that we had about releasing and writing music when we first started out.”

Energy and excitement are two things you can definitely feel listening to the track, too; the kind of burst into a chorus that you immediately relate to stadiums and arenas. The live version has a similar effect, transporting you from whatever size room you’re in, straight into venues in your mind that could easily rival the likes of Ally Pally.

Tonight they join the long list of bands to have been championed by This Feeling, joining The Modern Strangers, Lucie Barat and The Misfires, it’s guaranteed to be nothing short of phenomenal. Farebrother are never one to repeat themselves in terms of sets also, preferring to keep things fresh, for everyone including themselves, there’s also talk of them performing their latest single, due for release very soon.

Don’t worry if you’re not a lucky Londoner today, however, as they’re playing with Glass Caves at Bristol’s Louisiana on the 18th and then a hometown, headline show on the 20th for Matt’s birthday, sure to be an extra special one! Not to mention they have upcoming slots at Sheffield’s Tramlines festival and Bristol Harbourside.

Catch them at This Feeling’s showcase tonight (June 15th) at The Monarch, Free Entry, 7pm – Late.
