Among the Citizens announce their first ever UK tour, in association with Born Music and Off the Chart Promotions.

Yes, we are thrilled to reveal that we have teamed up with our friends at Off the Chart Promotions to take exciting Cambridgeshire upstarts Among the Citizens on their first ever UK tour!

The boys, who recently won Breakthrough Artist at the New Music Generator Awards, head out on October 8th and will play 8 shows around the UK in a tour that culminates at The Key Club in Leeds.

All of the information that you could need is on the tour poster below, as well as the music video for their exceptional ‘Words Mean Nothing’. We had a chat with the band to gauge their thoughts ahead of what is their biggest milestone as a band to date.

In October you embark on your first full UK tour, how are you feeling ahead of such a landmark moment for the band?

We are really excited to be going out on our first UK tour as a band as in the past we haven’t had such an intensive run of dates where we are able to do what we love. We are also looking forward to playing some material off of our new EP ‘Pretend to Be in Love’ which comes out in October.

Are you excited by the prospect of playing in towns and cities that you haven’t reached before and exposing new crowds of people to your music?

Yeah one of the main reasons we are so excited for the tour is because a lot of places we have booked are in cities we have never been to before, so it will be a great opportunity to travel the country and meet people who enjoy our music in so many different places.

Are there any places or venues that you are specifically looking forward to visiting?

We are all really looking forward to playing our headline Cambridge show on the 12th of October at The Blue Moon because it’s the day our new EP comes out and Cambridge has become a special place for us to perform at as we have so many memories playing there. We are also looking forward to playing in Brighton for the first time as its such a vibrant city which we haven’t had the chance to visit before.

What are your fondest memories that you have of performing?

For the single release of our song ‘Words Mean Nothing’ we played a hometown show at the Stamford Voodoo Lounge which is one of our favourite venues to play at, it was a packed out room full of friends and people who enjoyed our music so it was a great feeling to be up on stage having people sing back the lyrics to us!

What should people expect from an Among the Citizens live show?

At an ATC live show we bring a lot of energy and even more sweat so expect some tops coming off!
