Friday the 13th might be unlucky for some, but how can it be unlucky for us when we have such a great batch of new music to listen to?
APRE – Without Your Love
We’re not gonna lie, we’ve been absolutely championing these guys since the release of their debut effort ‘All Yours’; we managed to catch them at Barn on the Farm last weekend too and… wow. If these aren’t already on your radar this year for one of the best new acts around, then once you listen to this new one we bet they most definitely will be.
Easy Life – OJPL
The B-Side to brand new single ‘Frank’, we are really digging Easy Life’s ‘OJPL’ (Orange Juice Pink Lemonade) right now. ‘Frank’ is the follow-up to Easy Life’s much-acclaimed debut single ‘Pockets’, and their first new material since idiosyncratic debut mixtape ‘Creature Habits’. Easy Life is doing well to join up a lot of musical dots between a whole host of sounds, from Hip-Hop, to soul, to pop and indie. We cant’ wait to hear more.
Swimming Girls – Asking For It
We’ve all been there in a break up, when you go through a whole range of emotions which inevitably ends up in things being said that are a little bit blunt, but that’s just life isn’t it. That’s also the crux of Swimming Girls new track ‘Asking For It’, we know you’re gonna love it. The tune follows on from the Bristol four-piece’s recent singles, ‘Back of Your Car’, ‘Tastes Like Money’, and ‘2 Kids’.
Sigrid – Schedules
Our fave Norwegian pop queen is back, right on schedule some might say… (sorry!) What a banger this new track is though, full of life and energy, it was released ahead of her headline show in London on Wednesday. The arrival of the song has completed the tracklist for her ‘Raw’ EP, which is her second EP release to date.
The Howl and the Hum – Don’t Shoot The Storm
A band that seem to always have an enormous, well-produced sound in every single release, The Howl and the Hum continue to astound with ‘Don’t Shoot The Storm’, though this time with a more vocally raw, country-esque vibe about it. A must listen. Also, anything with a cowbell is great, right?
Bad Sounds – Couldn’t Give It Away
Our favourite cheeky chappies, Bad Sounds can literally do no wrong at this point, proven further with the release of brand new single ‘Couldn’t Give It Away’ get on this slice of musical greatness and take your Friday to another level.
