A Christmas cracker here in the form of a chat with Meadowlark’s Kate, alongside their top 10 tracks of the year, it’s a super dreamy selection, come and look!

It’s been a mega year for the wonderful Meadowlark, the release of their debut album Postcards, performing at some mega festivals – special mention to when we caught them at Off The Record – not to mention a whole load of other landmarks. It’s been special. Which is why we couldn’t not talk to them for our Christmas Cracker feature.

Listen to their top 10 tracks here, featuring the likes of Francis and the Lights, Toto (we know, right?), Rae (Bae) Morris and much, much more.

What have been your most memorable moments of 2017?
Releasing a debut album was pretty memorable. And headlining a stage at a festival in our hometown of Bristol! That was amazing. Oh, and reaching 1,000,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. That was cool, too. Ok there are too many!

What’s your album of the year?
It has to be Melodrama. Lorde is an absolute gem, I think she’s amazing!

What was the best gig (besides your own) that you’ve been to this year?
I personally loved seeing our two mates from Mauwe support us at our Bristol gig. I’d been lucky enough to hear all the songs beforehand anyway, so I was loving every single second of it.

Where will you be this Christmas and New Year?
I’ll be down in Plymouth and Dan’ll be over in Wales with his girlfriend. We’re so excited for some downtime!

What’s your favourite thing to eat or drink at Christmas?
Oreo milkshakes

What’s the best and worst Christmas present you’ve ever received?
Best was the huge electric piano my Mum got me, and the worst was probably a book. I’m really not a book person.

Do you have any resolutions for 2018?
To just be better! To be a better human being and do more things for people.

What is one thing you hope does not continue into 2018?
My horrendous eating habits

What album are you hoping for/looking forward to the most from 2018?
Rae Morris’s! She is incredible!

What band/act do you think we should keep our eyes on in 2018?
MAUWE.
