Amidst tours, single releases and big news for 2019, we caught up with Indoor Pets to find out how they’ll be celebrating the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019.

Ending the 2018 on a high, Indoor Pets have announced their debut album ‘Be Content’ arriving March 8th and the news of their biggest UK tour ever in April. It seems as though this band wont have a minute to stop and up is the only way from here.

We got to catch up with them during this festive season just in time for the sparkling new year 2019. Check out the how they found their year below and their top 10 track of 2018 playlist!

What have been your most memorable moments of 2019?
Announcing our debut album. Everyone that knows us knows how much time and effort has gone into getting to this point – it felt like it was never going to happen. Just being able to announce it felt like an instant release.

What’s your album of the year?
My Own Mess – Skegss, A fantastic nougat of loud choruses and hooks wrapped up in a lo-fi pop punk. It made me an instant fan.

What was the best gig (besides your own) that you’ve been to this year?
FIDLAR at Kentish Town Forum. It felt like an event. I’d never seen a crowd become so intertwined with a set of music. There were no rests.

Where will you be this Christmas and New Year?Probably working my other job. I work in hospitality to pay the bills, and Christmas is when people like to party. Kill me. Kill me now.

What’s your favourite thing to eat or drink at Christmas?
My favourite thing to drink is definitely the blood of my enemies. Or some Shloer!

What’s the best and worst Christmas present you’ve ever received?
Best: my mum bought me a set of mini-bagpipes. It was amazing.

Worst: on boxing day, I burst a blood vessel in my eye trying to play said bagpipes. It was not amazing.

Do you have any resolutions for 2019?
To let go. Enjoy the ride rather than worrying if the engine is big enough, or if the steering wheel is properly aligned. Just enjoy things for what they are not what they could be.

What is one thing you hope does not continue into 2019?
Musical instrument theft. Speaking from experience, I think we can bury that tradition.

What album are you hoping for/looking forward to the most from 2019?
Indoor Pets – Be Content (Out March 8th). I can honestly say it’s the best album that I’ve personally heard that is being released next year.
