A record that hasn’t been seen since 2002, the third album ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ by The 1975 was the most old cassette of 2018 in the UK.

Whilst all on-demand streaming services have been on the rise for over the past ten years, keepsakes such as the Vinyl record and Cassette have made their way back in. With fans wanting to own something that feels just that little bit more personal.

Cassette sales have been on the rise again since 2012 (thank you, Guardians of The Galaxy), and 2018 saw sales at their largest increase since 2004. According to the Official Charts Company, 50,000 sales were made in 2018 compared to 2017 where just under 30,000 sold.

‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ became the highest sold cassette of 2018, selling 7,523 copies all together. Making it the fastest selling cassette in 16 years from 2002. With a whopping 7,147 sales in the first week. Feeding further into the needs of fans sense for exclusivity it was made available in multiple different colours.
