As you many have noticed if you’ve been following our movements, we are hosting our debut event as part of #BLOGOTBER at The Finsbury Pub in North London (if you haven’t noticed – how? We’ve been banging on about it for a while now you know!). Having joined forces with LOST IN THE MANOR, for every day in the month of October, The Finsbury Pub will be hosting a live music event for a renowned taste-making music blog, and best of all, each gig in this ambitious project is absolutely FREE to attend!

Taking place on Monday 24th October, BORN MUSIC’s event is set to be a great night, and that is wholly because we have some stellar acts on our very first bill! So without further adieu, let’s take some time to get to know them all that little bit better…

Those amongst you with keen eyes may recognise BORN STRANGER, and that is because BORN MUSIC has featured them on the blog multiple times purely because they keep dropping those killer tunes!

A hard one to pin down, Born Stranger’s fresh take on anthemic electronic pop evokes thoughts of modern masters M83, Sia and Years and Years and iconic bands like Depeche Mode. Released earlier this year, the debut single ‘The Fire and the Flame’ felt the magic touch of iconic producer Yoad Nevo, with the track seeing the duo – David Maddox-Jones and Raife Hacking – catch the attention of Radio X and BBC Introducing. In our recent interview with the band, vocalist Maddox-Jones said “Electronic music is empowering!” and described their live show as “Fun – we’ll get you dancing!” Hear ‘The Fire and the Flame’ and recent track ‘Be Somebody’ here

SALT ASHES is no stranger to us over here either! Flitting between slick and sultry to darkly punchy, Salt Ashes’ – aka. Veiga Sanchez’ – brand of electro-pop is far too groove ridden for listeners not to be moving to! Having just released her self-titled debut album, the Brighton singer is quickly morphing into one of the most exciting alternative pop artists in the UK largely in thanks to her impressive vocal talents, creating a buzz on BBC Introducing and creeping up the Billboard charts.

Sanchez has also very kindly made us a cheer-up playlist just in case you can’t make it on 24th October (but you won’t need it of course because you’ll be there, won’t you…) Hear Salt Ashes singles ‘Save It’ and ‘Whatever You Want Me To Be’ here

Now, in events such as these, you require a headliner, and we are pleased to announce that ours is none other than LULU JAMES! Playing her first headline show for three years, this is the first chance you’ll get to hear the soul songstress debut tracks off her forthcoming EP Colours in a live setting. The smooth songwriter is not one to be pigeonholed, however; take a listen of her recently unveiled singles including the elegant and understated ‘Falling’ and electro-tinged soul of its antithesis ‘It’s The Time’. So there we are! We hope that you are duly geared up and just as excited as we are. It’s going to be quite the show…

If you plan on coming, grab tickets and let us know on our event page!
